What Do You Truly Want?!

We watch, we scan, we browse through photos on the internet of people living their lives in that wonderful and amazing captured moment in time. Why do we do that? Watch, scan and browse other people's held moments in time. What are we seeking? What kind of satisfaction are we getting out of watching those individuals who we may or may not even know? However, the bigger question is: why are we not capturing our own moments in time?

I'll admit, I use to look at those pictures of other people with envy. Now, I tell myself: "Wow, that looks great, I want to go there", or "I want to try that". You see, I finally learned that I deserve the life in my dreams. The challenge is figuring out how to get there. How do I attain those things that I want or be where I want to be? Most times we don't have what we want because we haven't created the space for it. We think that we can continue doing what we are doing and attain what it is that we want without planning for it and without doing the work. Sure, some things we can, but often times we are keeping ourselves away from those things that we truly want. And then again, do we even know what we truly want?

Are we settling for mediocre rather than amazing? We all have done it. Let's look at relationships as an example: you want an intimate and loving relationship. How many of you settled or tolerated more than you wanted to? Have you compromised your values and who you are? Do you feel that you can't speak your truth? If you answered yes to any of those questions, is that the kind of relationship you desire or are you just settling for (you fill in this blank)? We can look at settling in more than just relationships, but in the things we desire, such as: buying a car, or getting that job, that dress, those shoes. Why didn't you get the thing that you actually wanted when money wasn't actually the issue?

All of this has to do with our mindset. Do we believe we deserve it or that we are worthy of what we want? Our mindset can and is often times our own worse enemy. What is it that you truly want? It doesn't have to be luxurious or glamourous. This is about you! So what is holding you back from your desire?
